So I may or may not have been in the house moping because no one wanted to make the moss terrariums. I encouraged the girls to start the project a couple of times but they were to busy enjoying each others company or some such nonsense. So armed with a butter knife I ventured out and hunted some moss on my own. Their interest piqued. The scale tipper may have been the kitschy-cute vintage ceramic animals they got to add to their finished product. We put a thin layer of charcoal and then a thin layer of dirt into the small jars. We drizzled in some water and added pieces of moss collected in different areas. It is amazing where you can find moss when you are looking for it. And a butter knife is all it takes to pry it off the ground or remove a small mossy piece of bark from a tree. Here is my little terrarium of dreams...
Clare admiring her masterpiece.
Kelbie can't take her eyes off of her creation.
Lena is all smiles with her jar.
Thori's ingenious creation.
