All of this is Yvonne Meyer's photography. Tomorrow I will post some pictures of the party and the making of these mosaics, but I was so smitten with the pictures of the finished projects I had to post these first. Tony was kind enough to have this party at his house. He has a nice space for all of the glass cutting and crafting. Here's Anissa and Tony holding Anissa's project.
Here is my project. It depicts a scene near my house of silos on a hill by the road surrounded with fields. (I may have just broken the world record for prepositions in a sentence.) I cannot wait to grout it.
Cicely's brightly colored project to go into her brightly colored room.
Eli's interpretive sunrise. Notice the piece with the smiley face.
Zane's piece. He worked from a corner and added pieces like a jigsaw puzzle.
Yvonne's pieced and grouted project. Yvonne did a basic glass cutting tutorial before we started and pitched in to cut any tricky pieces. She also provided her circa 1980's giant round glasses (with a slight astigmatism prescription) as a second pair of safety eyeware.
Edward's Decepticon mosaic grouted and waiting to be scrubbed.
And finally Tony's mosaic. This photo was taken between the initial grouting and the final cleaning. Tony used basic shapes to create a really elegant piece.
Tune in tomorrow for the party scene and how-tos as well as the 1980's safety glasses in action!
I had a great time with everybody. I am smitten with the projects and find it interesting how each person worked through the creative process to find individual solutions. What fun! Thank you.
