Tree Huggin'

I made a big batch of granola to munch on for the camping trip.  I found the recipe in ReadyMade magazine.  I think it is the best granola recipe I have encountered.  It is mix and match so it calls for an oil, sweetener, flavoring, flaked grain, small grain, nut, and fruit but then it simply lists a whole bunch of options for each and let's you know the correct measurement for the ingredient you choose.  I did olive oil, brown sugar, oatmeal, flax and wheat germ, pepitas and sunflower seeds, and dried cranberries and cherries.  The magazine does, of course, have a website but I could not find the recipe on it.  It does have a lovely picture of the magazine cover (August/September issue) that you should definitely go out and purchase right now.

  1. Is this an original recipe? It was a nice combination of sweet, salty and fruit. It felt like wellbeing in a cup.
