Later today I am having a Pumping Carving Party for the kids. I did this last year too. Last year I had three parties in two days---something I am not sure I ever want to recreate. For the carving party last year I had twelve children. That was a little chaotic. They were all good eggs but twelve sugared up kids armed with knives is enough to test even the strongest mettle. This year I am shooting for a (hopefully) much more manageable four.
As you can tell, I did a skeleton motif. My daughter donated her Barbie clothes to a younger friend this year. An truth be told, the only time we have taken them out in last five years was to dress up skeletons. So I had to raid my mother's toy stash. My mother's friend made this orange polyester Barbara dress for me in 1976. It is still fantastic.
Sorry about the unexplained absence the last few days. I had a work conference in Las Vegas. I took my computer along hoping to post some general Halloween decoration photos. Obviously, it did not happen. I spent a whooping $3.00 gambling, so that is not my excuse. I had less than a drink a day, so that one probably doesn't hold water either. I guess the real excuse will stay in Vegas.
