Easter is on its way...

My friend Yvonne gave me a box of vintage flour sack material for my birthday. I have been smitten with these prints for nearly 15 years. Parts of three of the fabrics were converted into napkins. I am also considering making matching bunnies for the four little people who will be in attendance at the Easter party.

My family loves fortune cookies. Oh the magic of a treat that holds some little bit of wisdom inside of it. This year I made fortune Easter eggs. I poked a hole in both side of a raw egg, gently blew out the innards, ran water through it to clean it, and then let it dry out for a few days. I typed the Easter themed fortunes on decorative paper, rolled them around a toothpick and slid them into the eggs through the hole on one of the ends. Sometimes I had to make the hole slightly bigger with a tack. I sealed up the end holes and decorated the rest of the egg by gluing on paper punched flower shapes. I dyed the eggs after I blew their guts out. That last direction sounded more gruesome than it really was.
