As I mentioned there is a shameless aspect to this first party because I am doing it for me and not others. There are several self promotional aspects to the party that would be easy to adapt for a friend/loved one if you wanted to make them the target/recipient of this theme. I am doing a Katy Quiz: "What Do You Know About Katy?" The winner will get a lovely pair of squirrel underpants (as in underpants to put on squirrels versus underpants for humans with squirrels on them).
I also am doing a picture carousel with various photos of me during all of my awkward ages 0-37. Finally I am doing a timeline across the table. I will encourage guests to add either their own recollections of my timeline, or the actual world events timeline that runs parallel to mine. This would be nice for someone having a banner birthday which, in our culture, means anything ending in a five or zero.
