I know it is irrational to harbor intense feelings of dislike for a cake but the one I am working on for tomorrow about brought me to my knees. I am making a full sheet cake with a layer of chocolate and a layer of white. I started to frost it and the sides started peeling off (picture the face melting scene in Poltergeist only with cake). I cursed loudly and repeatedly then put the thing in the refrigerator--a self imposed time out. Luckily Ron saved the day again. I will have to get more frosting to finish the project but he managed to shore up the once structurally unsound delicacy.
My sister had a John Deere cake mold that she was hoping we could use for the party. We decided to do a rich double chocolate brownie with chocolate chunks. It is very, very heavy. No concerns with structural integrity on this one.
The brownie turned out great and I am sure the cake will be wonderful!
